Always There

Due to MJ's passing many television stations have been running specials all week honoring MJ's life and the inspiration he has had on the music world. Below is a list of programs followed by a description. Just to name a few:

Michael Jackson video marathon: VH1 Classic is broadcasting a weekend-long marathon of programming with an emphasis on videos through Sunday. Two related stations, MTV and VH1, are also featuring Jackson programming through the weekend.

“E! News Special: Michael & Farrah: Lost Icons”: This 30-minute special chronicles the lives of two stars — Jackson and Fawcett — who died Thursday. It premieres 10:30 a.m., Saturday on E!

“True Hollywood Story: Michael Jackson”: A two-hour version of E!’s signature celebrity show will show at 11 a.m., Saturday and noon, Sunday.

“Bio Remembers: Michael Jackson”: This profile includes interviews with Smokey Robinson, Liza Minnelli, La Toya Jackson and more at 10 p.m., Saturday on the Bio Channel.

“Forever The King: A Tribute To Michael Jackson”: BET News special explores Jackson’s career, life and legacy at 7:30 p.m., Saturday on BET.

“On the Record with Greta Van Susteren”: Special Jackson edition airs live from Los Angeles. Van Susteren will be investigating the cause of his death, speaking to his friends, and more at 9 p.m., Saturday on Fox News Channel.

“Michael Jackson: Man in the Mirror”: CNN news documentary explores the performer’s life at 8 & 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday on CNN.

“The Jacksons: An American Dream”: The 1992 five-hour miniseries documents the progression of Michael Jackson’s career from childhood stardom at noon & 7 p.m., Saturday on TV One. The same special airs at 2 & 7 p.m., Sunday on TV Land.

“The Life & Times of Michael Jackson”: A one-hour documentary produced by the TV Guide Channel will show at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

“BET Awards ’09”: The previously scheduled awards show, to be hosted by Jamie Foxx, is undergoing “a total overhaul,” according the Associated Press, which reported the show is being retooled as a tribute to Jackson. The telecast is being lengthened, performers are being added to the lineup (including Usher and Justin Timberlake) and additional guests are expected to attend. Preshow, “106 & Park: Live from the Red Carpet,” will air 6 p.m., Sunday; awards 8 p.m. Sunday.

“American Idol”: The Fox reality show airs an encore performance from this past season, with contestants focusing on MJ’s material, including Adam Lambert on “Black or White” at 8 p.m., Monday on Fox.

“E! Michael Jackson”: A documentary produced in cooperation with the Jackson organization — it includes home videos, new and archival interviews with Jackson, his family and friends. It premieres 10 p.m., Wednesday on E!
